Secretary

Two piece secretary, top (b), bottom (a). Bottom of desk contains three drawers, bottom two drawers have two knobs each. Drawer above these two drawers does not have knobs. Drop-front desk above the three drawers. Front feet are scrolled, back feet are rectangular. Thick wide scrolls flank the two bottom drawers. B is a cabinet that rests on top of A. Front of cabinet are two hinged glass panels that open toward you. The panels are divided into eight panes (four on each panel). The cabinet contains two shelves. Below the glass panels are two drawers side by side with two knobs each. The top of b is a sloping, flat-top pediment that is wider and longer than the rest of the piece. All drawers, except for the one without knobs, and the cabinet have key holes. (key is kept in the accession file).
