Marcella McCormack, who resided in Newport, was the daughter of actress and socialite Jane Pickens.
Richard "Dickie" Banks, originally from Palm Beach, lived both there and in Newport and was friend to society's elite; he was well known for his portraits as well as his drawings of male nudes. Banks studied with artist Ann Norton, wife of the founder of the Norton Art Museum; he then became a very successful window designer in NYC before turning to portraiture. He painted Dame Judith Anderson, Gloria Swanson, Peter Sellers and Rose Kennedy, among others. Banks showed his work continuously at the Art Association from the 1960s through 1992.
