William Drury's vibrant watercolors of the Caribbean were often shown in the Art Association's watercolor exhibitions in the 1930s and were the subject of an exhibition in 1936, reviewed by the Providence Sunday Journal: "The beautiful little Cushing Gallery...has been transformed...into an ante-room for the tropics.
