Description
A Japonesque style silver tea caddy with lid (c. 1873) made by Tiffany & Co., New York. Gilt interior with applied cherry blossom ornaments and engraved monogram in mock Japanese calligraphy reading: "ELR" (Ella Luisa Rives). This piece, made in 1873, is apparently the earliest piece of Tiffany holloware in the Japanese style.
