Description
A doll with a parian head painted with blonde hair with long sausage curls. Face has molded features and blue painted eyes. Body is made of stuffed cloth with parian arms and legs; flat brown boots are found on feet. Doll is wearing a crocheted red, white and blue dress and is holding a crocheted American flag; a red, white and blue sash with stars is draped over doll's torso. Possibly made in Germany. Tag reading: "Doll, red, white and blue clothes made and sold for the benefit of Sanitary Commission during Civil War. Doll loaned in Philadelphia (1914) causing great interest."
