Writ to Ebenezer Goddard, 1730-1731

Document is an order from the court of common pleas to Ebenezer Goddard to pay John Stevens a debt of 12 pounds, 12 shillings, 7 pence. Goddard is "in want of sufficient estates" to pay the debt and the town's sheriff is ordered to place Goddard in jail until he is able to pay. Signed by John Stevens, Ebenezer Goddard, Josias Lyndon, Edward Thurston, Jaheel Brenton, and Henry Bull. The reverse of the document itemizes payments from Goddard to Stevens.
