Description
A dragon incense clock (Chinese, c. 1850) made of gold and lacquered wood with a lead liner. The body of the clock consists of a long and narrow frame in the form of a dragon with raised head and tail. The clawed feet of the dragon curl under themselves and rest at its sides. Original to Kingscote, this timekeeping device burned incense sticks along a series of lead supports that measure the passage of time.
