A miniature box (English, c. early 19th century) made of silver and a coin by Mary Chawner. The simple box is only decorated by the use of a coin as the lid. Marked with a “Q A” this coin likely represents Queen Anne (1665 – 1714) and dates back to the early 1700s. The maker’s mark stamped on the bottom of the box is “MC”, dating the piece to the early 19th century and as one made by Mary Chawner.
