Description
A pill box (French, c. 1885) made of vermeil and enamel. The hinged lid depicts a bucolic landscape scene featuring a man, woman, and young girl in 18th century dress within a scrolling gold and blue frame. Along the sides and decorating the back of the box are incised acanthus leaf motifs. Stamped into the bottom corner of both the lid and the interior body of the box is the number “6”.
