Description
A repoussé pill box (Dutch, 19th century) made of silver with a curved body and hinged lid. The lid of the box features a triple-band border and a central figure of a female water carrier. Other figures decorate the body and are depicted participating in various activities amidst a landscape setting. Along the base of the box is a monogram of “HVDH”, as well as stamps of the Dutch passant lion and a maker’s mark of “HN/12”.
