Description
A miniature coffee pot (French, c. 1788-1793) made of silver and wood. Decorated with elaborate gadrooning, floral garlands, acanthus leaves, and a hinged lid with a pinecone finial, the pot rests atop three cabriole legs with hoofed feet. The wooden handle features a leaf detail and is curled outward before curving dramatically back to the body of the pot. Stamped on the bottom of the pot are two maker’s marks. One is an “A” surmounted with a crown, the other is a “P” which is also topped with a crown.
