Description
A snuff box (Dutch, c. 1880) made of silver in a tall rectangular shape. The hinged lid of the box is trimmed with a pierced galleried edge, and rests atop a body decorated with horizontal banding. A blank shield is superimposed over the banding at the center of the box face. Stamped into the underside is the Dutch passant lion, and an unknown maker’s mark of “PL / 44” within a square.
