Description
A pill box (English, London, dated 1814) made of silver with repoussé decorations. The circular box features a hinged lid which depicts a child feeding birds amidst foliate C-scrolls and flowerheads. Stylized C-scrolls and flowering vines border the body of the box. Stamped into the side of the box are five marks, the English passant lion, the leopard head of London, a date mark of “T”, a bust of King George III serving as a duty mark, and one other unidentified and obscured mark.
