Description
A snuff box (German, c, 1880) made of silver by Georg Roth & Co. The hinged lid of the box features a bust of a young King Lous XIV at center, surrounded by laurel leaves and acanthus vines. The body continues the design with scrolling acanthus leaves terminating at one end in a scallop shell and the other in a circular cartouche decorated with fleur de Lys and surmounted with a crown. The underside of the box is stamped with a Hallmark of a cursive āPā capped with a crown.
