Description
A side chair (American, c. 1880) in the Aesthetic taste with Japonesque lattice back and a red upholstered seat. This mahogany chair features a bronze reserve of sunflower and scrolling vines with swag pendants in the center of the back. The reserve is surrounded by flowerheads in squares and medallions as well as a carved border. A conforming seat rail attaches to two tapered rear legs on casters. The front legs are fitted with bronze caps ending in ball and claw feet.
