Description
A brazier (Turkish, 19th century) made of brass and copper. The circular body of the brazier, or ember basin, has a reticulated domed removeable cover above a footed basin that would have once contained embers. The four legs of the piece are shaped in dramatic curves and rest on small bun feet. Handles on either side of the basin would have allowed the piece to be moved easily.
