Description
A two-piece set of dressing furniture (American, 19th century) made of ebonized wood, gilt detailing, and burgundy velvet. The matching set is comprised of a side chair (.1) and stool (.2), both with faux-bamboo frames. The spindles along the back of the chair are in a geometric design, each ending with urn-shaped finials within a splayed square backing. The stool rests upon an intricate pattern of stretchers and knobbed struts, ending in four turned feet.
