Description
An urn-shaped jar (Chinese, 19th century) made of gold lacquered wood. The scene on this jar depicts two women luring a tiger among trees and mountains. Above the scene are two horizontal bands of Chinese characters which are written below a geometric patterned rim. The corresponding bell-shaped lid continues the geometric pattern and includes a bold lotus design under a pointed finial knob.
