A cache pot (French, late 19th century) made by Samson & Cie, decorated in the Chinese export armorial style. The exterior bears against a white ground a midnight blue shield surrounding three gold fleurs-de-lis, the French coat of arms, under a blue and gold crown within a gold band bearing the badge of the Order of St. Esprit. Scattered floral sprays painted in famille rose enamels cover the rest of the pot between a midnight blue and gold band border at the top and bottom.
