Description
A satinwood Adam style revival lady's desk (English, c. 1900) with boxwood inlay. This desk was inspired by a late 18th century lady's writing table with a super structure in the back housing small drawers and compartments. This example was possibly produced by the London maker/supplier Gillows. The drawers of the desk each have two knob pulls, their fronts are decorated with bow knots and swags. The whole is raised on four tapered legs decorated with bow knots and trailing bell flowers.
