Description
A Chippendale style George II style mahogany tilt-top tea table (English, late 19th century). The circular top is decorated with a carved frilly scrollwork edge, the center with a fitted boss surrounded with a wavy border and carved in high relief with grape clusters. The tripod base is delicately carved with acanthus leaves and scrollwork, the central openwork section with spiraling columns and a central raised foliate form, the three legs end in scroll feet.
