Description
A planter vase (German, Dresden, 19th century) in the form of a miniature folding screen supported by seven feet. The four front panels are surrounded by scrolling acanthus leaves in white glaze with blue, purple, and gold accents. The leftmost panel of the vase is painted with a seascape and the other three are painted with floral bouquets against a white ground. The reverse shows the two planter compartments which are painted in brown glaze with scrolling foliage against a white ground, they are supported by two branch form legs. Above the compartments is a star mark with trailing blue glaze.
