Description
A three-piece tea set (English, 1835) produced by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Etruria, Staffordshire. The set is composed of a lidded teapot (.1ab), a lidded sugar bowl (.2ab), and a creamer (.3). All three pieces have buff bodies decorated with blue raised relief Egyptian Revival style strapwork, which include lotus blossoms, crocodiles, and winged discs associated with the god Horus. The underside of the teapot is impressed “WEDGWOOD.”
