Description
A brush washer in lotus petal form (Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 20th century) composed of white jade with inclusions of green and yellow, the whole is raised on a carved wooden stand. The oval lobed body is carved around the exterior in high relief with chi dragons amongst clouds and five bats, which represent the five natural blessings (long life, health, wealth, progeny, and a natural death). The pierced wooden stand is carved in the form of leaves and floral buds.
