Description
A large green jade (nephrite) censor (Sino-Tibetan, 18th century). The footed bowl is in the form of an inverted lotus with the top eight flower petals carved in shallow relief with a seated Boddhisatva, the interlaying leaves are carved with floral forms. The stem and base are also carved in low relief with decorative floral forms. Originally the censor had a top, which is now missing. The whole is raised on a carved rosewood stand inlaid with white jade carved with blossoms.
