"Whitehall"

A small springtime landscape entitled “Whitehall” (American, 1879) by Edward Darley Boit (American, 1840-1915). The painting depicts a large tree with spreading branches next to a body of water in the foreground, and a farmhouse in the background. The canvas is signed “Boit” on the bottom left corner, and “Newport ‘79” on the bottom right corner. It is housed in a giltwood frame.
