An Art Nouveau figural centerpiece (Czech Republic, early 20th century) in the style of Royal Dux (Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur). The centerpiece is modelled in the form of a mermaid/sea nymph on the rim of a large open shell form bowl. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with raised drapery, sea fauna, and a lobster. The whole is supported by a pedestal base with incised lines indicating waves and dolphin heads. The underside of the base is stamped “1103” and has a partially rubbed off mark that likely read “BOHEMIA.”
