Description
A clock (French, 19th century) made in France for Tiffany & Co., New York. The clock is housed in a gilt bronze circular case decorated with draped garlands and topped with a bow knot, it is surmounted with a loop handle, the whole is raised on a square shaped base ending in four scroll feet. The corners of the base are decorated with lion-head masks and a raised-relief female mask on the front. The white enamel clock dial is fitted with two hands and is inscribed “TIFFANY & Co / MADE IN FRANCE.” On the reverse of the case is a hinged door which opens to reveal the inner works. The back plate is stamped “L.C. / 99.”
