Description
A William and Mary double gateleg dining table (American, likely Pennsylvania, c. 1700) composed of walnut. The rectangular top is supported by four baluster turned legs on ball feet with a scalloped apron above, the legs are joined by four heavily turned block and baluster shaped box stretchers, and two gate legs on either side (four in total) which swing out to support rectangular shaped leaves. These gate legs are joined by an upper block form stretcher and a lower turned baluster stretcher.
