Description
A three-tiered ebonized stand or end table (American, c. 1880) in the Anglo-Japonesque taste of the Aesthetic Movement. The tiers of the stand are surrounded by a Japanese and Moorish inspired spindle-work frame. The open gallery of the top tier is decorated with inlaid sunflower panels, and the sides of the stand are centered by panels with inlaid decoration featuring birds and flowers. The whole is raised on four cylindrical turned legs.
