Description
A round tilt-top mahogany Chippendale tea table (Anglo-Irish, mid-18th century). The table has an unusual dish-rimmed circular top that is supported by a pedestal which has been hollowed-out along the sides to form three separate reeded spindles. The pedestal leads to a tripod base with three heavily carved and shaped legs with feet that scroll upwards. The legs are carved with flower heads, foliage, and a pattern of overlapping scales.
