Description
A Chantilly Kakiemon style snuffbox with cover (French, 20th century) made by Edmé Samson et Cie. The cover is painted with the 'squirrel on grapevine' pattern, and the sides of the container depict colorful clusters of bound wheat and scattered florets. The lid and opening are edged with gilt metal mounts. The underside is marked in iron-red with a hunting horn and two crossed Ss.
