Description
A pair of blue-scale dishes (English, c. 1770) from the first period of the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company (1751-2008). The shallow dark blue dishes have a scalloped edge outlined in gilt and are decorated around the edge with four scalloped reserves painted with floral garlands against a white ground and four smaller reserves containing red/purple leaves. At center is a circular reserve with a scalloped edge decorated with a floral spray. On the underside the dishes are marked with a script “W” in blue underglaze.
