Description
A white marble portrait bust of Madame du Barry (1743-1793) (French, c. 1900). The figure is depicted turned to the left, with flowing drapery and a floral garland around her shoulders. Her long curled and braided hair is adorned with flowers. The whole is raised on a square socle base.
This bust appears to be modeled after the 1773 portrait bust of Madame Du Barry by Augustin Pajou (French, 1730-1809) now in the collection of the Louvre.
