Description
A large white marble portrait bust of Marie Antoinette (1755-1793) (French, late 19th century). Marie Antoinette is depicted with curled hair, her head turned to the left, and is clothed in loose drapery with a ruffled edge around her shoulders. The whole is raised on a small circular base.
The bust is modeled after the sculpture “Marie-Antoinette, reine de France” by Louis Simon Boizot (French, 1743-1809) currently in the collection of the Louvre.
