Description
A suite of green painted wicker seat furniture (American, c. 1900) made by the Wakefield Rattan Co., Wakefield, MA. The suite is comprised of a settee (or tete-a-tete) (.1) and two large armchairs (or marquises) (.2-.3). All of the pieces have shaped backs with wide rolled armrests, a lattice apron, outset scroll decoration on the front legs, and are raised on four splayed legs connected by an X-stretcher. The settee has a back and seat tufted cushion upholstered in green fabric, the armchairs only have seat cushions.
