Description
A Louis XVI giltwood tabouret (French, 19th century) from the workshops of Jules Allard and Sons, Paris. Upholstered in modern floral fabric on a white ground. The rectangular giltwood seat frame is carved at the corners and along the sides at center with floral decoration. The stool stands on four block tapered legs with gadrooned collars, the legs are boldly carved with foliate decoration, the legs end in circular pad feet carved with leaves. The legs are joined by a cruciform shaped stretcher carved with flowers.
