Description
A pair of andirons (or chenets) (French, 19th century) attributed to Bouhon Frères, Paris. The matching ormolu andirons are surmounted by foliate finials on top of fluted columns with swags of acorns and oak leaves. Flanking the base of the column are a pair of flambeaux torches. Decorating the front of the shaped base is a chiseled lyre surrounded by foliate decoration. The bases are raised on short block tapered legs.
