Description
A Napoleon III style upholstered bench with three loose cushions (American, 1892-1895) made by William Baumgarten & Co., NY, designed by Emile Baumgarten (American, 1865-1922) for use in The Breakers Billiard Room. The bench and cushions are upholstered in green velvet, the corners of the bench are decorated with gold tassels, and the seat rail is trimmed with green and gold braid. The bench is raised on turned mahogany legs joined by stretchers and supports a mahogany foot rest at the front.
