Portrait Plate

A Royal Vienna style portrait/cabinet plate (Austrian, late 19th century) signed Wagner. The plate is painted at center with the bust portrait of an unnamed young woman facing left in profile in the Pre-Raphaelite style against a background of sunflowers. She is depicted with brown hair, blue eyes, and wears a pink smock. The rim is decorated in an elaborate border of stylized floral designs in gold on a dark background.
