Description
A pair of tablespoons (American, Newport, c. 1770) made by Thomas Arnold (American, 1734-1828). The spoons have a deep oval pointed bowl that is incised on the reverse with a chevron-shaped drop, and long coffin handles inscribed with a script “W.” The handles are marked on the reverse with two touch marks, a script “TA” in an oblong punch and “T.ARNOLD” in block letters in a rectangular punch.
