Correspondence to Gwendolen King Armstrong (Mrs. E. M. Armstrong) from her mother Ella Rives King (Mrs. David King). The letter was written during a period of mourning, as evidenced by the black band around the paper and envelope. In the letter Gwendolen writes about a friend's rough trip on the SS Rochambeau, which was later used during World War I to repatriate US citizens from Europe. Gwendolen also mentions a recent tea with Mrs. La Farge. Included are two newspaper clippings. One is titled "History of Songs / Story of Music for Twelfth Night Pageant by Art Association"; the other is a letter to the Editor of the Daily News by Henry Wright Clarke.
