Description
A Hepplewhite mahogany four-poster double bed (American, c. 1800), the posts support a canopy of modern yellow cotton fabric with a matching skirt. Tapered and chamfered head-posts on square legs center a shaped headboard. The tapered fluted and ring turned foot-posts with inlaid urn supports end in block tapered legs with spade feet. The foot-posts each have two brass bolt escutcheons decorated with an eagle.
