Description
A pewter basin (American, c.1790) made by David Melville (1755-1793) of Newport, RI. The basin is marked at center with Melville’s four hallmarks, the first contains his initials, the second an anchor with four stars, the third contains a hanging sheep, and the fourth a rosette.
