Description
A blue and white teabowl and saucer (English, c. 1765) produced by the Lowestoft porcelain factory. Each piece is painted in under-glaze blue with a flowering peony tree growing from behind stylized rockwork. The rims are decorated with a cell diaper border. The interior of the teabowl is painted with a central floral spring.
