Description
A twenty four piece Chinese export tea service (Chinese, c. 1790) composed of a teapot and cover, sugar bowl, creamer, two waste bowls (.4a-b), a dish/plate, nine saucers, and nine teabowls. Each piece is painted with a famille-rose medallion depicting a bird perched in a flowering tree, surrounded by stylized rock-work and flowering shrubbery. Above the medallion is the monogram "CEC" in gilded script. The rims have blue star borders above bands of red and gold husks.
