Description
A partial thistle pattern tea service (English, c. 1795) manufactured by the New Hall porcelain factory, Staffordshire. The set is composed of a waste bowl, plate, six saucers, six demitasse cups, and six tea cups. Each piece is decorated with a gilded leaf and red berry vine border containing a red thistle on a gilded leaf stem. The sides and surrounds are further accented with red and gold thistle sprigs.
