A Louis XV Style Walnut Bergere

19th century

A LOUIS XV STYLE WALNUT BERGERE (French, 19th century) with a curved back, armrests, and loose cushion upholstered in red/rust colored velvet. The upholstery is secured to the frame with brass tacks. The crest rail is carved at center with flowers and trailing leaves, the front of the seat rail is carved similarly. The chair stands on four cabriole legs that terminate in whorl feet, the front two legs have flowers carved on the knees.
