Description
ONE PARTIAL DRAFTING TOOL SET (French, late 19th century) in a monogrammed leather case inscribed at center "R.H.H.", for Richard Howland Hunt (1862-1931), and on the bottom right corner "Atelier Daumet." The interior of the case is lined with velvet and fitted for six ivory and pewter architectural tools. Several of these tools are inscribed with the initials R.H.H. Also included in the set are three protractors. The set contains:

.5= bow compass / divider - L: 4 1/4" W: 3/4" (no R.H.H. monogram)
.6= leadholder - L: 4 1/4" W: 1/4" (R.H.H. monogram)
.7= leadholder - L: 4 3/4" (R.H.H. monogram)
.8= leadholder - L: 4 13/16" (R.H.H. monogram)

Richard Howland Hunt, like his father Richard Morris Hunt, studied architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he entered the Atelier Daumet.
