Description
A carved white and green stone figural lamp (Chinese, 19th century) with a fabric shade. The lamp is topped with a finial of five carved stone beads strung in a loop on a wire. The jade figure represents an Immortal, identifiable by her windswept clothing and tray of peaches signifying immortality. She alludes to the Feast of the Peaches (Pantao Hui), the banquet of Immortals in Daoist cosmology.
